About N.D.Y.D:

Nima relief  (NDYD) is a humanitarian non-profit organization that provides emergency relief, rehabilitation, development assistance, and program services to vulnerable communities worldwide. NDYD upholds the highest professional norms in program delivery including accountability to beneficiaries and donors alike. Currently NDYD’s interventions are focused on serving the needs of the most vulnerable victims of the Syrian conflict, particularly women and children among refugees in Turkey and IDPs in the northwest of Syria. NDYD is registered in Turkey under license number (057-023-31).

We are looking for a trustworthy, dynamic and innovative person to work as a program officer so as to join the team of the head office of the N.D.Y.D in Turkey – Antakya.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Program Officer will be responsible for the effective implementation of the N.D.Y.D. portfolio of projects and programs as he will ensure accurate, effective and efficient implementation of projects as well as the development and institutionalization of the Programs section.

Duties and responsibilities of the Program Officer:

  • Directly responsible to the Program Manager or his representative
  • Assist in managing the successful and timely implementation and completion of projects, to ensure effective and accountable outputs and results
  • To assist in N.D.Y.D. compliance with all regulations of the terms of funding/grant contracts and agreement and the directives of our financiers
  • Assist in designing project proposals for various
  • To assist in Support the timely submission of donor reports, accurately, well written and other reporting requirements
  • To assist in submit monthly and annual reports of programs to the program manager or his representative.
  • Ensure that donor compliance rules are well understood and integrated.
  • To assist in monitor the progress of programme projects through field trips, close liaison with project staff, monitoring expenditures, communicating with donors, and solving problems.
  • To assist in represent the N.D.Y.D. at meetings as appropriate, including donor meetings.
  • To assist in develop and access potential funding opportunities
  • Assist in the design of emergency preparedness procedures to ensure that the N.D.Y.D. is prepared to respond to emergencies within its areas of operation.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in management or engineering. Or a degree in a related field with significant applicable experience.

Experience:

  • At least 4 years of experience in the humanitarian field, including at least 2 years of special emphasis on the programme department.
  • Experience in managing multisectoral projects as a program officer in at least two of the following sectors: Food Security and Livelihoods, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene, Shelter, Protection, Camp Management or Emergency Response.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work effectively, whether independently or in a collective environment, in an atmosphere of multiple projects, changing priorities, and withstand the pressures of work.
  • Significant experience in designing project proposals for various donors in Arabic and English.
  • Work experience in the Syrian context and a strong understanding of the local context and the region.
  • Experience in writing periodic reports in English and Arabic.
  • Demonstrate an understanding and experience in the policies, protocols and procedures of international NGOs and donor agencies and an ability to meet with them, collaborate with them and persuade them.
  • Strong understanding of all stages of programme cycle management and quality standards in humanitarian programs, including protection and accountability mechanisms.

 

  • He is highly skilled in organizing wide-ranging, fast-paced, and responsive field programs.

Languages

very well versed in both Arabic and English spoken and written
